Christmas Menus in the Miami Area

After Christmas shopping, wrapping gifts and planning galore — it’s time to start thinking about Christmas dinner. You don’t need any more stress on your hands, let the local chefs take care of your needs. You’ll leave from their restaurants content, relaxed — and ready for more celebrating. We have made your planning a little bit easier and have gathered some details on what local restaurants in the Miami area are offering.

Price: Varies, an a la carte brunch menu will be available on 12/24-12/26 from 11am-4pm and an a la carte dinner menu will be available on Christmas Eve.

Highlights on the brunch menu include Parisian Omelets ($12), Belgian Waffles ($10), Creole Grits with sauteed shrimp and roasted pepper and tomato sauce ($12) and the Red Eye “Hangover Burger” ($14). Specials on the dinner menu include Fresh Gnocchi with shaved black truffle Parmigiana Reggiano and truffle cream sauce ($12), Maple Leaf Duck with citrus glaze and smashed red potatoes and baby arugula ($28), Osso Buco ($32), and Chocolate Buche de Noel ($6).

Atrio at Conrad Miami will be serving a delicious 3-course menu on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Highlights include Curry Spiced Parsnep Soup with honey roasted almonds; Spiced Roast Goose Breast with caramelized chestnuts, braised red cabbage and cranberry reduction, Pan-Fried Arctic Char with cauliflower puree, applewood smoked bacon and truffle oil; and Buttermilk Panna Cotta with caramelized bananas and warm toffee sauce.

If you have yet to experience the new Blue Door Fish, why not make a trip over the holidays. Their prix-fixe menu is filled with innovative menu offerings like Walnut Soup with walnut candied and foie gras foam; a festive salad of pan-seared day boat shrimp and scallops served with haricot verist, porcini mushrooms, julienne apples and raspberry vinaigrette; Seared Chilean Sea Bass with a fricassee of fingerling potatoes, asparagus, green peas and a truffle chicken jus emulsion; and a dessert tasting trio with chocolate pistachio mousse, red velvet lava cake and tangerine bavarois with exotic fruits.

Chef Allen has created a prix-fixe menu that is sure to impress. Stand outs include Laughing Bird Shrimp Ceviche with Ccucumber, starfruit and frisee; San Marzano braised Lamb Ragout with fresh black truffle; Escarole and Fresh Fig Salad with dolce gorgonzola, crispy serrano ham and caramelized onion vinaigrette; Rare Duck Breast and Crispy Duck Confit with roasted mushrooms, brussels sprouts and edamame succotash; and Bittersweet Chocolate World for dessert with hazelnut mousse, pistachio creme and spicy hot chocolate.

Price: $55 ($35/child) with $25 add-on for wine pairing

Dine on the 15th floor of the Viceroy at Eos for a very reasonable $55/person. Start your meal with your choice of a crab cake, organic beet salad or butternut squash soup. For your main course, choose the Turkey Medallion with truffle puree potatoes and baby brussels sprouts; Pan-Seared Halibut served clam chowder style with potatoes and little neck clams; or Beef Tenderloin with wild mushrooms, chestnuts and black truffle beurre fondue. For dessert, choose between a slice of Pumpkin Cake with sage ice cream or Triple Chocolate Fondant.

Giancarla has put together a feast for Christmas Eve. Start your dinner off with Florida Lobster napoleon with warm oven roasted stewed tomatoes, potato and tarragon cream; Move onto something that is rich, yet bursting with flavor — a plate of risotto with shrimp, radicchio and crispy speck glazed with fresh pomegranate; Continue onto your meat course with roasted lamb with chanterelle mushrooms, potato, caramelized garlic and rosemary; and finish off with a serving of the Sweet Tortelli filled with white chocolate-Calvados mousse, apple and walnut.

John Suley will serve up the traditional menu combined with a few holiday specials like White Bean and Escaroloe Soup with smoked ham hock, Roasted Duck Breast and Crispy Lef Confit with sweet potato puree, cherries and spiced port wine sauce; and a Warm Pumpkin Gratin with gingerbread and cranberry sorbet.

The Intercontinental will offer a tempting buffet on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. On Christmas Eve, you will find Lobster Bisque, assorted salads, Free Range Turkey with all the trimmings, Honey Glazed Ham with Jalapeno Apple Sauce, Mongolian Spiced Beef Tips and an array of desserts will Jamaican Fruit Cake and Bouche de Noel. Brunch on Christmas Day will feature an omelet station, a Mediterranean Garden station with antipasti and tapas, assorted salads, a sushi and raw bar, a carving station and an artful display of desserts.

Michy’s will offer a 3-course prix-fixe to ignite your senses. Highlights include Maine Diver Scallops Sashimi with Thai basil ponzu; Braised Veal Cheeks with cippolini onion confit and Bourdeaux Demi; and Red Velvet Whoopie Pies.

Whether you plan to dine on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day, Neomi’s Grill will take care of your dining needs. On Christmas Eve, the prix-fixe menu will highlight such dishes as goose liver pate, Shepherd’s Pie, Butter Basted Turkey, Candies Yams and a Yule Log for dessert.  On Christmas Day, it is more relaxed and a lavish display will be set up with a combination of traditional options and South Florida specialties — gourmet appetizers, salads, smoked salmon, braised short ribs, rosemary stuffed turkey, Bone-in ham, coconut caramel flan and eggnog bread pudding with round out the dining options.

Norman’s 180 is offering an a la carte menu for Christmas Eve with something for everyone with appetizer, salad, entree and dessert specials. For the carnivore in you, you are sure to enjoy the Slow Roasted Prime Rib ($36) served with warm roasted fingerling potato salad, watercress, horseradish reduction and malbec reduction. If it’s seafood you’re craving, why not try the Whole Baked Mediterranean Sea Bass ($30) served with confit baby fennel, marinated taggiasca olives, citronette and tomato almond chutney. Finish off with a sweet ending and enjoy the Egg Nog Creme Brulee with Gingerbread Biscotti ($9).

The 4-course holiday menu at Scarpetta combines favorite dishes on the menu intermixed with holiday specials. Highlights include Creamy Polenta with Fricassee of Truffled Mushrooms, Spaghetti with tomato and basil; Prime Filet of Beef with fingerling potatoes, trumpet royale mushrooms and Parmigiano; Alaskan Halibut with baccala mantecato, white asparagus and smoke paprika and a luscious dessert for the table — Amedei Chocolate Cake with toasted almond gelato and salted caramel sauce, Coconut Panna Cotta or Mocha Swirl Cheesecake.

The Setai will accommodate all your wishes this year. If you opt to go for the vegetarian menu, you will be delighted with satisfying options like Pumpkin Veloute with shaved Parmesan and Truffle Oil; Claypot Tofu with a mixture of seasonal vegetables in a sweet dash broth and Pumpkin Pecan Pie with Steen’s Molasses Ice Cream. When you visit 660 at The Angler’s for Christmas Eve, they will make you feel right at home with a welcome drink — the Classic Coquito with coconut milk, dark rum and cinnamon. The dinner portion will be just as enticing. Enjoy Plantain Aranitas with mojo aioli, sea salt and adobo; a salad of Florida avocado with orange, red onion, radish and jalapeno; an 18-hour roasted pork shoulder served with Cuban style white rice, stewed red beans, crispy yucca fries and caramelized sweet plantains and Coconut Tres Leches for dessert.
