The W Hotel on Poydras Street already offers such an experiential visage that it’s only fitting that the new Behind the Bar photo exhibit, brought to you by the masterminds behind Tales of the Cocktail, is calling the second floor of the hotel home until October 31. Located near Zoe, award-winning Chef Roberto Bustillo’s restaurant, visitors can view a series of artistic photographs which focuses on New Orleans bars and the spirit of the cocktail culture in our city. Free of charge, travelers are welcome to take a look at the pictures judged to be the best representation of what it means to be a great bar in the Big Easy. In fact, if you take a shining to any of the pictures, you’re more than welcome to take it home … for a price. Each and every one will be up for grabs, with half of each sale benefiting the New Orleans Culinary and Cultural Preservation Society.
The opening reception is open to anyone with an RSVP with Michelle Dunnick of Tales of the Cocktai, and takes place on Wednesday, October 1 from 5 30-7 30 pm. Food will be provided by Zoe and a Sazerac bar will be featured, allowing all to join in on a toast with New Orleans’ official drink.
