Do you like to play Texas Hold ‘Em? Here is an opportunity to play the game for a great cause. The 5th Annual Children’s Oncology Services, Inc (COSI) Charity Poker Championship is going to be held at the River East Art Center on January 22. This fun filled event sells out each year so be sure to get your tickets soon.
The winner of the grand prize will receive a seat at the 2009 World Series of Poker in Las Vegas. The emcee for the competition will be Dan Bernstein from WSCR “The Score” AM670.
Some of the players who will challenge you this year include WMAQ-TV Ginger Zee, Chris Zorich, former Chicago Bears, and Richard Roeper of the Chicago Sun Times. You are guaranteed to have good time and if your cards fall just right, you can hit the big time. If you are not a card player, you can have fun playing in the Nintendo Wii competition. Sweet Baby Ray’s barbeque will be in the house along with a premium open bar from Brown-Forman.
COSI’s One Step At A time programs allows children with cancer to have camp and other educational experiences.
Check in for the event begins at 5pm with the poker tournament beginning at 6pm. This gives you plenty of time to ready for the big game. Prices are $250 for the Texas Hold ‘Em player ticket and $50 for a spectator pass. There will only be 350 poker players.
