As of May last year there were only 40 recharge points spread across all the London boroughs, according to a transport for London press release. That included some of the Westminster ones before the rollout of more – so it looks as if charging points outside Westminster are very few and far between.

Fares go up today

Fares on London public transport go up today by an average of 6% – ahead of the rate of inflation.
A single bus journey with an Oyster card goes up by 10%, from 90p to £1. And while the Zone 1 cash tube fare stays at £4 (which is far, far more than I pay for a similar metro ride in Paris – anyone care to give me the comparison for New York?), tube fares in other zones go up from £3 to £3.20.
A one day bus and tram pass goes up from £3 to £3.30, and DLR cash fares rise from £1.50...

Boris Johnson has just dramatically cut London’s future transport plans. And he’s also announced that the fares Londoners pay will be going up.

the Thames Gateway Bridge
the Cross River Tram (Euston to Waterloo – two very badly served termini)
extension of the Docklands Light Railway to Dagenham
tram extension to from Crystal Palace to Croydon
the Oxford Street tram
plans for bus routes on two new estates in East London.
