“Joy is the well made object” is a statement Haida artist Bill Reid often quoted. Reid, of mixed Scottish/Haida heritage was one of Canada’s most renown artists recognized well-making as a central quality in the work of his ancestors, one he equated with their humanity and historical achievement, which he brought forward as part of his own continuity. Reid, known as the Master of Haida Art, had a passion for making things cine his childhood and making them well...

You may not be able to read the German language, nor do you know how to pronounce the letter ß (sounds like “ss”), but that doesn’t mean that you should pass up the opportunity to own some pretty amazing antique books. I may be one of the few, but I absolutely love antique books whether 50 or 500 years old, I love them all! These items can only grow in their worth and it’s also a great way to preserve some of our shared past through literature. You might even be able to find...

Sprawled across two city blocks not far off busy Collins Avenue, the Bass Museum of Art is one of the more tranquil and enriching pleasures adjacent to this northern section of South Beach that makes for an interesting and very different diversion away from the usual outdoor and entertainment life nearby.
Along with the excellent variety of permanent works of both New and Old World origin on display here, the Musuem has a number of visiting exhibits at any given time that make more visits here always...

Lighting up the night sky at the Theresienweise is the soft glow of the green, blue and yellow lit tents under which tourists and city folk alike sit to enjoy musicians, international cuisine, drama groups and live performances. Some performances require that you purchase tickets (see website). While some may be wondering if it’s too cold to have an outdoor festival during the harsh Munich winter, they quickly change their minds as hot glühwein (spiced wine) is overflowing at only 2.50€ a mug....
