Many people know that Walt Disney Resorts can provide an incredible family vacation, but did you know that they could be quite romantic as well?  After all as you look around, everywhere are happy couples, Cinderella and Prince Charming,  Belle and the Beast and of course Mickey and Minnie. It is hard to imagine anything more romantic than Paris, but how about a dinner at Blue Lagoon Restaurant at Disneyland Paris Resort (map)?  This waterside restaurant is set within the fort of the Pirates of...

REVIEW: Flores Restaurant – Chic Dining in Lisbon

REVIEW: Flores Restaurant – Chic Dining in Lisbon
Part of Lisbon’s first contemporary boutique hotel – Hotel Bairro Alto (map), Flores (Flowers) restaurant has managed to keep up the modern trendy-chic atmosphere. On the right corner of the hotel lobby, as you enter into Flores you also pierce into a secluded room away from Chiados fuss. Serenity abounds in here and everything is made to assure you a tranquil evening. On the walls, black and white photos of Lisbon contrast with old style tiles. A superb combination of classic and modern...

‘Lovers’ Day’ in Rio

February 14 may be a distant romantic memory to Westerners, but here in Rio the city is gearing up for Dia dos Namorados (lovers’ day) – Brazil’s version of Valentine’s Day. Of course, as with Valentine’s Day, the best...

Sydney Photo Friday: Mrs Macquarie’s Chair

With Valentine’s Day upon us tomorrow I thought I’d take a look at one of Sydney’s most romantic spots, Mrs Macquarie’s Chair. In 1810 New South Wales Governor Lachlan Macquarie got the convicts to carve this chair from sandstone rock for his wife Elizabeth. What a romantic gesture! Word is that she used to sit at this spot near Sydney Harbour and watch the English ships sail in. The views are still some of Sydney’s best! Image source: Steve Nova/Wikipedia Commons ...
