Plan Your Seattle Bus Trip Online
There are all sorts of good reasons to take public transportation in Seattle, and the current snow and icy conditions is just one of many. From most outlying locations into downtown King County Metro is a quick and easy and often connection free. The bus is an easy way to navigate the downtown core, and is free for much of the downtown area.
To figure out how to get where you want to go, use the regional trip planner, entering in your starting point, your intended destination, and either the...

Public Transportation in Istanbul
When ever I arrive at a new destination, I find it very useful to know in advance how best to get around. Nothing is more annoying than to waste huge amounts of money on a taxi only to discover that you could have reached your destination by hopping on the appropriate bus or train and getting off 2 stops later at a fraction of the price.
Luckily, Istanbul has an excellent transport system. It’s easy to use and well explained by plans that are exhibited at every major stop. Here is what you...

Travelling by Train Around Buenos Aires
... Bare in mind that, specially during rush hours, the trains are more or less overcrowded. The train tickets are remarkable cheap (as all kinds of public transportation in the city), varying from 70 cents till about 1,40 pesos, depending on the length of the train ride. It is possible to buy tickets from a machine or at a ticket office in the railway stations. Linea Mitre is operated by TBA ( www.tbanet.com.ar ) and runs also the line to Tigre on the outskirts of the city. This is perhaps the most...

Guía T, The Ultimate Guide to a Safe Colectivo Experience
Buenos Aires is a huge city and moving around could be a bit tricky. Colectivos (buses) can be a cheap and convenient way to get around the city. But it is sometimes difficult to figure out the routes. So, I would recommend you get a transit guide if you plan on taking the colectivo. You can buy a little book called the “Guía T” which shows a comprehensive street map and all colectivos´ routes. It will definitely help you figure out how to get where you want to go. The guide costs...

Feel Like a Porteño, Ride the Colectivo
Getting around Buenos Aires by subway or taxi is easy, but taking the bus can be a bit of a challenge. Colectivos are buses and buses are everywhere.
There are more than 150 different lines in the city with different routes that will take you basically wherever you want to go. Colectivos are a great way to go. They run 24 by 7, though service at night is less frequent. All colectivos within the city cost $1.10 pesos (which is less that 40 cents USD) for a single fare. They take coins only…no...

Seattle Photo Op: Pioneer Square Bus Tunnel
Pioneer Square Station of the Seattle Bus Tunnel
Seattle, while perhaps not best known for its extensive system of public transportation, does have a fairly efficient system of bus tunnels in the downtown core. I’d still like to see a light rail system supplement the street level buses, but that’s all we’ve got for now. This is the tunnel at the Pioneer Square station.
The downtown bus tunnels are safe, clean, and easy to navigate. I use them often when making a trip into the city.

Italy On Strike! Transportation Info for Travelers
Bus strike today, airline strike tomorrow, train strike this weekend. This might seem bizarre and really far fetched to most people outside of the little peninsula or Italy, but this, although an extreme example could sometimes happen so it’s best to be prepared, flexible, and aware.
When it comes to strikes, most Italians will wonder what all the fuss is about simply because strikes here have become more of an inconvenience to those who are not Italian rather than anything that really should...

Details: The Seattle Monorail dates back to the 1962 World’s Fair, when it transported millions of visitors to the fair.
Although it has never since rivaled that ridership level, it’s still an easy way to get back and forth between the downtown core and the Seattle Center.
