As far as I can tell, Goldstar offers some very sweet deals through their website. Theater, sports, music, and interesting events can be had for around half-price. The company has garnered reviews from The Washington Post, The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, Smart Money, Forbes, O, Time, and–now–from me and the Los Angeles Guide! And, lucky for Los Angles, it’s one of only eight cities that is currently represented. Register on the company website and you can book tickets,...

One of the unique features of Vancouver’s Stanley Park, is the popular Theatre Under the Stars at Malkin Bowl, just past the entrance of the Park. TUTS, as it is called, is one of Vancouver’s largest musical theatre companies. They present two musicals during the summer months at Malkin Bowl.
Malkin Bowl, named for W.H. Malkin, a former mayor of Vancouver, was built in 1934 as an outdoor band shell for concerts. It was built as a 2/3 size replica of Hollywood Bowl. The Theatre...

The long running Lloyd Webber musical which ran for almost 18 years at London’s Apollo Theatre is due to pull into Auckland after calling into Christchurch and Wellington.
With 7409 performances the ‘Express‘ is second only to CATS as Britain’s largest running musical.

Even the playwrite George Bernard Shaw can pen a stinker. And that’s the bottom line on plot of The Millionairess at the Olney Theatre Center.
Set in the 1930s, Brittan’s richest woman, Epifania, has bored of her celebrity athlete husband and is looking for love and happiness. She’s a self-absorbed, overly-dramatic woman of privilege without a hint of self-awareness or concern for others.
She dramatically contemplates suicide with her attorney, if only to inconvenience others and...

At the same time as the 2009 Capital Fringe Festival, Chicago’s own The Second City brings its legendary improv comedy troupe to Washington, DC and the Woolly Mammoth Theatre.
And can the subject mater be any riper? A new President from Chicago, a corrupt Illinois Governor tossed out of office and a questionable Senate seat filled, a bid by Chicago for the 2016 summer Olympics and some typical Chicago politics makes for business as usual in the “City that Worsks Works”.

Today I’ve heard of the laser theatre Lux Aeterna (Eternal Light) for the first time and discovered that it works in St. Petersburg. Moreover, it’s the only such a theatre in Russia that has its consistent stage, which is located at the St. Petersburg’ Planetaruim.
How to describe a show? It’s a mixture of light, bright colourful light, and sound. There are no human beings on a stage, if this “stage” can be called so, of course. Imagination of artists whose...

Corporate life can be brutal. Especially in this adaptation of Pedro Calderón de la Barca, 17th century story about a Polish king imprisoning his son for life after was predicted that his son would bring disaster to the kingdom. After the son matures, the king presents him to his court as his heir to the throne. But disaster follows since the prince is both violent and ill-prepared for his place at monarch. He is later drugged and returned to his prison, being told it was all a dream.

Some of my most memorable, happy summers in my childhood and youth come from camping experiences. Whether it was the oudoor adventure Boy Scout camps organized by my preacher dad when I was a tiny tot, the family camping excursions or attending the Keats Island Baptist camp during my teens, camping has always been one of my favorite activities.
There are hundreds of opportunities here on the Coast for kids to experience the joys of camping. Running around outside and using only their imagination...

For a city known above all else for its beaches and its parties, Rio has an impressive amount of spaces and events dedicated to what could be crudely dubbed `cultural stuff’. This weekend is a case in point, with 42 hours of non-stop cultural happenings taking place across the city.
From live music performances and DJs at Centro’s Praca 15 de Novembro, to theatre and circus performances in the residential neighbourhood of Flamengo, the weekend offers something of interest to all ages...
