Singles Only Valentines Day Party
A singles survival guide to Valentines Day should include the hip and rockin’ “Valentines Lock and Key party for 2011″ presented by Singles in The City at the The Dominion Bar.
There are a lot of happening Singles Only Valentines Day events all around Auckland but I have never heard of one like a lock and key party. The thing with singles party is that a lot of people are there to have fun but getting to breaking the ice is a bit harder than most people think.
Dominion Bar thought...

Coming Up: The Poshest Street Party in Britain
I’ve just been invited to a party. It’s a street party. It’s a very posh street party – because it’s being held in Jermyn Street, home to the British tailoring establishment and the Cavendish Hotel.
Beau Brummel, the nonpareil of fashion, an an elephant, enjoy a little conversation in Jermyn Street
There’s something very British about street parties – many Londoners celebrated the end of the Second World War by closing off the street and having a knees-up,...

Saint Anthonys Manjerico: the lovers flower
June is by excellence the month of all popular saints. The most typical and old neighbourhoods are decorated in bright colours and joy feels the ambiance. These are the main places where Saint Anthony Festivities take place. Streets get full of people, the smoke of sardines flows with the ocean breeze, glasses are filled with wine, there’s music and dancing through the night. Bush basils (Manjerico) are sold around the corner.
Manjerico is the flower mostly associated to Saint Anthony and Saint...

Hed Kandi Asia Tour at Azure this September ’09
Everybody knows that here in Hong Kong we like to party. As more and more clubs continue to play their favourite hip hop and R&B tunes, I prefer house and electronica music. Hed Kandi is renowned for the best dance parties across the globe and this September you can shake it up at Azure Restaurant Slash Bar.
Returning to Central this September, Hed Kandi is taking over the Penthouse venue of Hotel LKF with Hed Kandi DJ Colin Airey and sultry saxophonist Deeyana. Both debuting in Hong Kong,...

A cheap night at Alfama – barbecue and fado party 28th of August
This is a chance to participate on a cheap improvised Portuguese party at Alfama.
Alfama is one of the oldest quarters of Lisbon, a maze of small streets and alleys that bring alive the true spirit of old Lisbon. Fado is its ultimate musical expression.
This gathering will be held outside, on the stare case. Dinner will be simple but the best for the occasion, barbecue and cold green wine (there’s options for vegetarians). Along with this, there will be street fado out into the night. At the end,...

Party like it’s 1899
... to be found here, visiting Rio’s historic buildings needn’t feel like a school trip. Happily for visitors who have come to Rio to party, many of the old buildings have been transformed into bars, restaurants and nightclubs, making Old Rio a great place to eat, drink and make merry.
The atmosphere tends to be more informal than the nightlife and dining of the Zona Sul, and the crowd is less touristy – if you’re looking for authentic samba clubs, this is the place to find them.
The...

Cheap Barcelona Party: All-nighter in Poble Sec
... let their hair down is at their local neighborhood parties or ‘fiesta major’ in Catalan. Every borough in the city has its own party, some better than others, but all with music, food, drinks and people from the neighborhood of all ages. Of course, everyone is invited. One neighborhood puts on the party, but those from any neighborhood can attend.
A few weeks ago I mentioned a similar party in Barceloneta, and this week the fiesta major is in Poble Sec. A residential zone, I must admit...

$1 Drinks, Stolen Buddha, What the ?@#
Saba Restaurant in Boca Raton has been sitting quiet for awhile. I’ve always known it was there, but have never made it inside. Not that its dead or closed or anything, but for me personally, nothing drew me inside. Though, this weekend its created quite the buzz.
As they say, any buzz is good buzz, but really, what the #!* Sometime Sunday, a 150-lb Buddha was stolen from the front of the restaurant. Seriously? This is not something you can just pick up...

Santa Teresa throws an arty party
... done differently here.
Santa Teresa is known as the hub for Rio’s artistic and musical communities, and the boho bairro knows how to throw a party. As well as the chance to visit the colourful studios, visitors should expect abundant live music and a very lively atmosphere in the neighbourhood’s many excellent bars and restaurants.
The two-day art festival is now in it’s 19th year, and is always a lively, colourful event with plenty going on even for those who don’t know...

4th of July Vegas Fireworks Hot Spots
Vegas loves any reason to party, and the 4th is one of the best. Fireworks will pop up all over the valley at parks, entertainment hot spots and any other place where one can safely light a fire. But the sparkly lights are only one reason to watch the sky on (or close to) the Strip. After all, what we are really celebrating is our country and our community, so gather with fellow citizens and toast our democracy.
On The Strip
Watch the fireworks at TAO Beach at the Venetian...

Santo António Night – Street Party
... Santo António was born in Alfama and his main feast day is the 13th June. 12th June, at the end of the day, Lisbon turns into a huge open air party.
At Avenida da Liberdade, from around 8h30pm, there will be the parade. It´s almost a carnival style parade with people dressed up in costumes and adorned cars rolling by. There’s also the “St. Anthony’s brides”. The city hall traditionally hosts bridal couples for free if they’re poor. The Avenue gets packed with white dresses.
In Alfama...

Culture vultures and party animals – this is your weekend!
For a city known above all else for its beaches and its parties, Rio has an impressive amount of spaces and events dedicated to what could be crudely dubbed `cultural stuff’. This weekend is a case in point, with 42 hours of non-stop cultural happenings taking place across the city.
From live music performances and DJs at Centro’s Praca 15 de Novembro, to theatre and circus performances in the residential neighbourhood of Flamengo, the weekend offers something of interest to all ages...

Thursdays for Thirty Somethings
... commonly known as Ü-30. It’s a massive event where the who’s who of thirty-somethings in Munich get together and throw one heck of a party. Last year, over 1200 Müncheners were in attendence. This year, we should expect no less. As this Friday, May 1st, is a holiday, and on holidays the people of Munich do not have to drag themselves from their beds to get to work, you can assure yourself that party goers will be out in droves on Thursday night.
