Taste Orange At Bondi | Gourmet Delights Without the Drive
My getaway to orange in May was one of my favourite foodie adventures. If you can’t spare the time to make the trip, don’t worry. This week orange is coming to Sydney!
Today is the first day of Taste orange @ Bondi, a week-long celebration of all the gourmet delights orange has to offer. There are plenty of free events, and ticketed experiences too like the Philip Shaw dinner at Swell and Wine, Food, and Books at Gertrude and Alice.
The week concludes with the big Taste orange Sunday celebrations...

Sydney Photo Friday: Goodbye to Orange
... but for now I can’t resist looking back at the country one more time. My husband took this photo looking out the window at Printhie Wines at orange. he just couldn’t resist capturing those yellow autumn vines, contrasting with the grey skies above and the vibrant red wildflowers below. I really enjoyed my time in the region, and hope to return!

The Highs and Lows of Eating in Orange
My husband and I spent two nights sampling the famed restaurants of orange. One meal left us raving, while other left us with a bad taste in the mouth.
There’s certainly something to be said for expectation. When my husband I made plans to spend our wedding anniversary in orange, we booked in to Lolli Redini straight away. We’d heard so much about this restaurant, which had received so many consecutive SMH hats, and the menu on the website looked stunning.
Sadly, it didn’t meet those expectations...

A Home Away from Home at the Black Sheep Inn
While in orange my husband I made our home at the Black Sheep Inn. Once an old sheep shearing shed, it’s now been converted into a funky accommodation spot which toes the line between bed and breakfast and boutique hotel. Our host Helen was friendly but never intrusive, happy to prepare breakfast, help us get our bearings, and suggest the area’s best restaurants, but also aware of a couple’s need for privacy while they’re away.
As the only guests in the five-room inn, we were lucky to...
