200th Anniversary of Munich’s Oktoberfest
... take advantage of warmer weather, Oktoberfest always begins in September. This year’s celebration is September 17 through October 4, 2010, in Munich, Germany.
The locals fondly refer to Oktoberfest as “die Wiesn” because of its location: Theresienwiese (map). The huge meadow was named for the bride, Princess Therese.
Because it’s a special anniversary, there’ll be an historic reconstruction of the original festival using an antique tent plus an exhibition of historical...

... upcoming album, no small feat for any artist.
I’ve been hooked on Telekinesis for the past month and am stoked that they’ll be coming to Munich. Starting at 10pm at the Orangehouse, tickets are starting at 10€. I would highly suggest spending your Tuesday evening at Orangehouse as Telekinesis is sure to fill your head with catchy tunes and hipster dreams. Maybe you don’t have the time, maybe you didn’t know they were in town until it was too late, or it’s even possible that you didn’t even...

Thursdays for Thirty Somethings
... there is a get together called Über-30, more commonly known as Ü-30. It’s a massive event where the who’s who of thirty-somethings in Munich get together and throw one heck of a party. Last year, over 1200 Müncheners were in attendence. This year, we should expect no less. As this Friday, May 1st, is a holiday, and on holidays the people of Munich do not have to drag themselves from their beds to get to work, you can assure yourself that party goers will be out in droves on Thursday...

Marienplatz City Center
Drawing millions of tourists a year, Marienplatz is the central square located in the center of Munich – and has been since 1158. Marienplatz acquired its name in 1638 after the Mariensäule...
