Tucked away in Handboogsteeg, a narrow alley off bustling Kalverstraat is Dampkring Coffeeshop, a haven of haze or a circle of smoke as the name suggests.

Coffeeshop Nieuwe Dampkring
Nieuwe Dampkring, Haarlemmerstraat 44, has the same cosy atmosphere as its sister coffeeshop, Dampkring in Handboogstraat, but Nieuwe Dampkring has a completely different approach to colour scheme and architectural design.
The outside of the building is in traditional Amsterdam style. The inside is three floors of steel, chrome, hi-tech video installation and special effects-lighting. All this creates a 21st century industrial feel emphasized by an earthly colour scheme with lots of greens and blacks.

Start your day at Barney’s Coffeeshop at 7 am. Tuck in a breakfast of bacon and eggs. Smoke a joint afterwards while reading the morning papers. ... is good to know that possession of soft drugs is decriminalised in the Netherlands and anyone over eighteen is allowed to have 30 grams.
