Classic Christmas in New York City
... to enjoy this site as well. I would recommend arriving early in the morning, or late at night (or both!) to experience the tree. On weekdays, the ice skating rink opens at 9:00 am and at 8:30 am on Friday through Sunday. Arrive early to soak up the festive atmosphere before being one of the first to wait in line and skate (prices vary according to day and time, but expect to pay at least $10 plus skate rental fee).
If you like the idea of skating beneath the stars, the rink also stays open until...

Disney on Ice: Princess Wishes
Every child has a favorite Disney story or movie. When I was a kid my favorite was Cinderella and even as I grew up I remained enchanted with Disney’s wonderful fairy tales; as a teenager I used babysitting as my excuse, but I enjoyed watching “Beauty and the Beast” and “The Little Mermaid” over and over (and over!) again. It’s true, the Disney princesses were my favorite.
The touring Disney on Ice “Princess Wishes” show is coming to Houston from November...

Olympic Hopefuls Skate into Spokane
I’ve been lying a little low the past few days as I’ve been traveling in the eastern part of the state, learning all about what’s new and happening in Spokane. We Seattle-ites need to get over our west side elitism and check out what’s going on in the second largest city in the state.
Right now what’s happening is the US Figure Skating Championships being held at the Spokane Arena (map). This event will determine who makes the Olympic team, representing the US in the skating competitions...

The Christmas Express and New Year’s on Ice at Cityplaza
Yesterday I took my seven year old niece ice skating at Cityplaza in Taikoo Shing (map) where we used to live. I grew up in this area and practically visited this mall every week since I was a year old. It’s become tradition for our family to go ice skating here every Christmas holiday so every year I’m excited to see what special displays and showcases they have lined up for the festive celebrations.
This year they have the Christmas Express at Cityplaza complete with a Cirque du Soleil extravaganza....

Cinderella on Ice comes to Hong Kong
Call me a walking cliché, but as a little girl, all I wanted to be was a performer. After years of ballet classes, ice skating classes and theatre productions, I’m still very much involved in theatre and absolutely love watching shows every chance I get. Luckily, in Hong Kong we get quite a number of great stage productions that head our way.
This month, the critically acclaimed Imperial Ice Stars bring their newest production Cinderella on Ice to Hong Kong and I am extremely excited to...
