Every year, the Cultural Center of the Philippines sponsors a film festival that reveals the works of novice film makers. For travellers, it’s a week-long activity with Filipino directors willing to go out of their way to veer off from conventional Filipino movie genres such as Melodrama, Low-budget fantasy, and Slapstick Funny.

New York Screening for Cinemalaya 2008 Finalist ‘Boses’ (Voice)

The film was a Cinemalaya finalist for 2008 and has garnered 12 nominations for the 2009 Golden Screen Awards, the Philippine version of the Golden Globes. The Golden Screen award ceremony will be April 30, 2009.
