Shokudo: Casual Japanese Dining on Oahu
With Shokudo, tradition takes a step forward in Japanese casual dining. Conveniently located on Kapiolani Boulevard near the Ala Moana Shopping Center this restaurants pleases all kinds of tastes — from drinks to dishes to desserts.
The restaurant features an extensive (and physically large!) menu of 60 different dishes and a drink list of everything ranging from soft drinks to beer and wine to sake and specialty drinks. Be sure to save room for its special dessert too! All of these delights make Shokudo a very hip sushi bar and late night hangout.
There are plenty of places like this, but no place executes quite like Shokudo — and nowhere can you get a delicious dessert like Shokudo’s honey toast with ice cream. It sounds like a simple dessert, but this thing is greater than its parts. As the illustration shows you, this $5 dessert is huge, griddled with butter, sweet, soft, crusty, and just plain yummy.
There so many delicious things to eat and drink here — including the sushi pizza, red dragon roll, and even sizzling clay pot — that one visit just isn’t enough! But one thing is for certain: Shokudo is the perfect way to cap off an evening with food and friends — a perfect place for a late night snack.
