First Look: Angle at the Ritz-Carlton Palm Beach

Chef Ryan Artim
When a resort’s signature restaurant closes down, you never are quite sure what to expect. Such was the case with Angle Restaurant at the Ritz-Carlton Palm Beach. For the past year, daily service was on halt and the gorgeous venue was used primarily for private parties, but just recently Angle has reopened with a fresh, more relaxed supper-club concept, and since I do what I do — I was able to taste my way through their decadent menu created by their ultra-talented Executive Chef, Ryan Artim to give you a peek at what to expect.
Creative preparations of locally sourced ingredients highlight the vision of the newly reopened restaurant’s menu. Chef focuses on wild, line-caught fish, local produce from area farms and all-natural, preservative-free beef from Creekstone Farms. Pair these seasonally-inspired offerings with a bottle of wine from their amazing wine list that tops 2000 bottles, 840 which are impressively stored in the stunning focal wall of wine.

Taylor Bay Scallops with Corn Puree and Pomegranate
While the entire meal was worth gushing about, I certainly did have my favorites. First up, the Taylor Bay Scallops ($14) with a rich, sweet corn puree and dotted with pomegranate.

Beet Salad
Next up, a salad of Five Color Hydroponic Baby Beets with Endive, Baby Fennel and Clementines ($13) — a welcome variation of your traditional beet and goat cheese salad. When I say fresh from the farm ingredients, this dish has that covered.

Fort Pierce Golden Tile with cauliflower and tomato chutney
To appreciate the local seafood, Chef Ryan has added options on the menu like the Fort Pierce Golden Tile ($32) served with cauliflower and a sweet tomato chutney. Plenty of sides are available for the table ($8-$10) like Cream Corn, Asparagus, Mac ‘n Cheese and Blue Cheese Tater Tots. It’s comfort food at it’s finest.

Nutella Beignets
And now for the sweet ending … a medley of desserts. The warm Nutella Beignets paired with a cup of hot chocolate were divine. Contrast these with miniature ice cream sandwiches and you have a perfect balance of chocolate and vanilla that will send you well into the evening.
Angle at the Ritz-Carlton Palm Beach is located at 100 S Ocean Blvd, Manalapan. Dinner is served from 6:00-10:00 pm Wednesday through Sunday. For more information or reservations, call (561) 540 4924.
