Enjoy Country Life at Sydney’s Mowbray Park Farm
It’s controversial, but I’ll say it: our city kids have gone soft. While their country counterparts rise at the crack of dawn to milk the cows and feed the chickens, ours complain when we rouse them just before they need to leave for school. We’re lucky to get them to make their beds, and they’d rather plant crops on Facebook game Farmville than get their hands dirty.
If you want to expose your brood to the wonders of farm life you don’t need to travel far. Mowbray Park Farm near Camden allows the whole family to experience what it’s like to work on the land without leaving the city limits.
The animals are sure to melt the hearts of the most hardened city slickers. Kids can milk the cows, feed cattle and horses, ride a pony, and cuddle some of the cutest little creatures in the animal nursery. There are also plenty of other activities to enjoy, including archery, whip cracking, and boomerang throwing.
Most Sydneysiders enjoy a day visit, but if you can’t bear to leave on site accommodation is also available.
