Dining with a View at Top of the Hub

The Top of the Hub, with its extraordinary skyline view from the 52nd floor of the Prudential Tower, is without doubt one of Boston’s most romantic destination restaurants.From the sophisticated New American cuisine to the glamorous decor to the fluid and attentive service, dining at Top of the Hub is an unforgettable Boston experience.

The food at Top of the Hub is truly equal to the setting.Chef Mark Pocaro has created a menu that is seasonal New American with a New England accent. You can count on prime meats and native seafood dishes like the grilled tenderloin of beef ($37) and the Maine Cedar-plank Atlantic salmon ($29)to be expertly turned out along with newer takes like a potato crusted Georges Bank cod with a red wine reduction($32) that teems with crab. The appetizer selections are especially creative and inventively prepared and presented; there’s a well-composed beet tartar with goat cheese salad ($12) and a very popular spicy lobster soup with coconut milk, lemongrass and ginger ($11).Those with a sweet tooth should be sure to save some room for the Valrhona warm chocolate cake with blackberry ice cream and burgundy sauce ($10).

You’re likely to want to linger after dinner. Cap off your evening with drinks while gazing at the view in the adjoining lounge which features nightly live jazz. Late-late night, the lounge attracts a hipster crowd sharing plates.  And although reservations aren’t accepted in the lounge, restaurant diners have priority seating.

Top of the Hub offers several dining options. For dinner, you can order a la carte, go for the bargain prix fixe (3 courses for $55) or splurge on one of the chef’s tasting menus which range from $75 to $95 with wine pairings available for an additional charge. Top of the Hub also offers lunch a la carte as well as a daily 3-course prix fixe lunch- which at $22 is a tremendous value. The weekly Sunday brunch buffet is $39 (adults) and $24 (children).
