Storybook Settings for Romantic Disney Get-Aways

Many people know that Walt Disney Resorts can provide an incredible family vacation, but did you know that they could be quite romantic as well?  After all as you look around, everywhere are happy couples, Cinderella and Prince Charming,  Belle and the Beast and of course Mickey and Minnie.

It is hard to imagine anything more romantic than Paris, but how about a dinner at Blue Lagoon Restaurant at Disneyland Paris Resort (map)?  This waterside restaurant is set within the fort of the Pirates of the Caribbean ride and offers moonlit dinners and a view of the lagoon among the lush tropical foliage and white sand.   Guests at Pizzeria Bella Note dine by candlelight and can even share a plate of spaghetti like the classic romantic scene from Lady and the Tramp.

• Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort is home to the Grand Floridian Spa & Health Club offers a “couples room” where guests can enjoy specialized treatments like facials or massages.  The Victorian decor of the resort alone is enough to put any couple in a romantic mood.
• A cruise, even for an hour or two, can kindle some romance.  Reservations can be made by calling 407-WDW-PLAY to schedule a private rental of a 1920′s style Mahogany boat for a half-hour afternoon cruise.  Up to six guests can hire a boat and captain to take them on a one-of-a-kind Fireworks Cruise into Epcot of Illuminations.
• Romantic Dining will be on tap for guests at California Grill located on the 15th floor of Disney’s  Contemporary Resort.  California Grill offers panoramic views of the sunset over Magic Kingdom or dine a little later for amazing views of Wishes fireworks show from your table or the rooftop patio.

• Head to the Downtown Disney District for a variety of shopping, entertainment and dining options including the Uva Bar which boasts an open air circular bar offering tasty Tapas and serving over 40 wines by the glass.  The live entertainment options include  romantic flamenco guitar near the House of Blues and classical violin played outside Naples Ristorante e Pizzeria.
• The award-winning restaurant, Napa Rose is located within Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa and offers fresh California ingredients for elegant dining and special occasions.  A cozy lounge offers a romantic spot to toast with a glass of wine or share an after-dinner drink or dessert.
• Mandara Spa at Grand Californian Hotel offers exotic treatments and specialty massages to relax the body and spirit.  Couples can share a massage or indulge in a meditative Zen Buddhist Tea Ceremony at the Tea Pavilion.

With so much romance in the air at Disney Resorts, it can feel like Valentine’s Day, everyday.
