Main Street Bakery a Treat Anytime

Main Street, U.S.A. located in the Magic Kingdom theme park  is for most of us the first exposure we have to Walt Disney World Resort.  It is bright and colorful and full of character.  Yet, for so many it is merely an avenue toward bigger and better things.

Yes, we might slow down long enough to take the quintessential family photo with Cinderella’s Castle in the background.  And, we might pause to point out some of the clever shops and items on display in the windows,  suggesting we will pick up later, on our way out, of course.

Being one of those people that has a tendency to look at the dessert menu before ordering my meal,  in order to know what lies ahead, I can totally understand zipping along down Main Street.  After all, some of the most popular attractions lie within the confines of Magic Kingdom (map), beyond Main Street.

My suggestion is, however, don’t skip dessert!  At some point in your day at Magic Kingdom, head back to Main Street, U.S.A. and visit Main Street Bakery.  Known for its specialty coffees, cookies and confections, Main Street Bakery is a great place to satisfy that sweet tooth.

During morning hours, guests can select from a number of pastries, muffins, croissants, juice and coffees.  Who can resist a warm cinnamon roll?  Share a leisurely continental breakfast while contemplating your day, dining in at one of the many tables or grab something quick to enjoy on your way to other destinations within the park.

Midday visits provide a pick me up coffee, refreshing smoothies, soft drinks and delicious cakes, cupcakes, rice krispie treats and cookies.  While a variety of sandwiches are offered, my main mission here is something sweet.  Having rested and refreshed you will be ready to round the corner to more adventures and attractions.

After a full day in the park, why not grab a little something sweet, like an ice cream cookie sandwich, while you wait for the nightly fireworks display?   Following the fireworks, stop in for an espresso or cappuccino and a slice of chocolate mousse cake, warm banana bread pudding, apple charlotte or a napoleon while you let the crowd thin out.

Offering seating as well as items “to go”, Main Street Bakery allows guests a shady escape and the opportunity to relax and reflect.
