Cupcakes for all in Auckland, New Zealand!

Over in at 8 Westbourne Road, in Remuera, Auckland, The Kitchen Central Cooking School can teach you how to bake and decorate cupcakes! For the more adventurous they can also teach you how to cook a formal three course dinner.

Wendy McEntegart who runs the classes believes in taking the mystique out of cooking; and believes anyone can cook if shown how.

These classes sound like so much fun! I can’t wait to try them out!

Wendy tailors her classes to accommodate people from complete novice cooks to confident cooks. During the classes she talks about how you can make food in a home kitchen, showing you some chef’s tricks, how to cheat (for example - buy some ingredients if you are pressed for time rather than making them all from scratch), but most of all how to enjoy cooking and feel relaxed when faced with entertaining in your home.

Lessons are varied, and include: how to cook a formal three course dinner, wine and food matching evenings, basic cooking skills lessons, cupcake classes, how to host and make the food for a cocktail party,  and how to entertain larger groups using platters of food.

At the end of the lesson you get to sit down and eat the meal you have prepared accompanied by matching wines. This is all done in a relaxed friendly atmosphere with as much or little help as you need to be sure you are able to recreate this by yourself at home.

Cupcake classes involve baking the cakes and teaching basic cake decorating methods to present the cakes. You even get to enjoy the cupcakes with a cup of tea or coffee at the end of the class and take home a presentation box of four cupcakes that you have made!
