A White Christmas in Auckland, New Zealand?
A New Zealand Christmas is full of beaches, barbeques, and jandals, rather than winter woollies and snow, but now Kiwis have a chance to discover a White Christmas in Auckland – in the middle of summer!
Cadbury’s Share the Joy programme is a series of events in Auckland, Wellington, and Christchurch.
The Auckland event is the best of all – The Share the Joy Giant Snow Globe!
The Giant Snow Globe takes the traditional Christmas ornament and supersizes it. Step inside and you’ll be transported into a winter wonderland full of falling snow, a snowman and a giant Christmas tree covered in chocolate – right in the middle of summer!
It will be in One Tree Hill Domain from 16-19 December, and Windsor Reserve in Devonport from 21-24 December opening hours are from 10am to 9.30pm daily.
So take the whole family and enjoy the feel of falling snow. You can even make snowballs and have a snowball fight and take those longed for White Christmas photos!
In Wellington, Share the Joy brings you Clap Your Hands Christmas Lights – a house completely covered in thousands of sound activated Christmas lights. The more you clap and cheer, the more the house lights up.
Both events are FREE and for all the family.
In Christchurch, The Make me Laugh event (held on December 8) was a free comedy show that aimed to bring back a little joy to the Canterbury region after the 7.1 magnitude Earthquake.
I think it’s a great way to get into the festive spirit. Thanks Cadbury!
