New Year’s Eve Festivities
Whether you are looking to something for to ring in 2011 that is quiet and intimate or one big bash, the options are endless in Miami. Here’s a look at some of the most sought after destinations.

Acqualina‘s New Year’s Eve Party

Acqualina is offering 3 choices for their New Year’s guests. First up, guests can enjoy a 5-course dinner with open bar for $250/person. The second option would be to enjoy a Mediterranean-inspired buffet with an open bar for $200/person. Entertainment for this will be live music from Miami Music Show and vocalist Marcela Velasquez, and a fire dancer performance at midnight. The 3rd option is to enjoy a pool party for $95/person. This includes an open bar and DJ entertainment. Advance reservations and prepayment are required by 12/15/10.
Biltmore, New Year’s Eve Celebration

Cost: $250++, $200++ for Biltmore members, $200++ for children 12 and up and $50 for children under 12.

The Biltmore is doing it up this year to bring in the new year. The celebration kicks off at 8:30 pm in the Country Club Ballroom. Guests will enjoy a 4-course dinner and open bar; and listen to the sounds of the band Libido, and DJ Peoples. Other entertainment includes fireworks at midnight and a cigar roller.

Daniel Boulud has created an unforgettable culinary experience for his first year in Miami. It begins at 8:30 pm with a foie gras terrine, followed by a Sea Scalop and caviar pairing atop oyster nage, crushed potatoes and leeks. The menu just gets better from there ending with a coffee and chocolate cremeux with candies Buddha’s hand and jianduga ice cream. After dinner, guests will enter the lounge area and listen to a DJ spinning with a champagne toast at midnight.

Shanghai New Year’s Eve at The Setai, South Beach (map)

For the ultimate in luxury, visit The Setai for New Year’s Eve. Guests will be whisked back to the 1930′s and 1940′s as they enter the Golden Age of Shanghai. Guests will begin the night in the courtyard where they will enjoy Taittinger Champagne, classic cocktails and hors d’oeuvres. They will be entertained by a mixture of Chinese, Shanghainess and western jazz. The celebration continues as guests indulge in a 7-course Grand Tasting menu featuring decadent treats like Creme of Butternut Squash and Spiced Marshmallow, Home-made Salmon Gravalax with Lime Cream and Osetra Caviar, Foie Gras “Au Torchon.” Each course will come with a wine pairing, carefully selected by Head Sommelier Dwayne Savole.
After dinner, guests will celebrate in The Courtyard with the Countdown Party, with DJ Ludovic Allen. Asian tastes and chocolate truffles will be passed after the ball drop for one last indulgence.
