Cirque Dreams: Illumination Coming to Fort Worth
If you are looking for something sophisticated and magical to enjoy this holiday season, consider Cirque Dreams: Illumination, an American theatrical group featuring more than two dozen talented circus performers from around the world.
This unique extravaganza is coming to Bass Performance Hall in Fort Worth, with 8 performances scheduled from November 30th through December 5th, 2010. The show is affordably priced for such a grand production, with tickets running from $22.00 – $49.50.
Cirque Dreams: Illumination is the brainchild of Neil Goldberg, who also directs the production. Since 1993, Goldberg has developed over a dozen different Cirque Dreams shows, combing high-tech visuals with skilled circus artistry. These performances have no plot in the traditional sense, but are more like a series of choreographed skits sharing a similar theme.
In the case of Cirque Dreams: Illumination, the segments focus on seemingly ordinary people – secretaries, painters, office workers – going about their daily lives as though magically imbued with exotic abilities, everything from aerial performance, gymnastics and contortionism, to a man who simultaneously juggles and plays the drums.
The captivating show spans two and a half hours with one intermission and is accompanied by a wide range of musical styles: classical, jazz, show tunes and hip hop inspired street beats. So whether you’re looking for a fun, family outing or a fabulous date night, don’t miss out on Cirque Dreams: Illumination at Bass Performance Hall.
