At Blaisdell this holiday season

In addition to turkey and stuffing, there is much to be thankful for this Thanksgiving – especially if you’re in need of some local entertainment.  The Neal S. Blaisdell Center is serving up a healthy offering of entertainment this holiday season, beginning on November 27.

Russell Peters, one of the few stand-up comics to have sold out Madison Square Garden, will grace the Blaisdell Concert Hall stage with his hilarious Green Card tour act.  (He’s Canadian).  This will be his first show in Honolulu, so let’s be sure to give him our best island welcome.  His performance is at 8 p.m. and tickets start at $45.

Keep in mind, too, that December is just around the corner!  If you’re a big music fan, mark your calendars for these two cool concerts, also at Blaisdell:

On December 2, Star 101.9’s annual Band Camp hits the Blaisdell stage with two local bands and two internationally known musical artists.  Hawaii’s Pimbot and The Throwdowns will take the stage, followed by Orianthi, that blonde guitarist from Michael Jackson’s “This Is It” whose song “According to You” was a summer radio hit.  Train, whose catchy tunes like “Drops of Jupiter” and “Hey, Soul Sister” make them among America’s most popular bands, will headline the event.

Two weeks later on December 17, Hawaii bred star Bruno Mars will return to Honolulu to sing his famous new tunes, “Billionaire” and “The Way You Are.”  Mars owes his success to his unique brand of music, which he says is partly inspired by local island music.  He’ll also make a stop in Maui later that week.

These December concerts start at 7 p.m. at the Blaisdell Arena.  Be sure to purchase tickets at the Blaisdell box office or via www.ticketmaster.com.  Ticket prices start at $25.  Call #1-800-745-3000 for more info.
