Fall Family Activities
Thanksgiving is a time for family. And since spending time together as a family is time well spent, here are a few late fall things to do in Boston that encourage family bonding.
In town with the family for Thanksgiving? An adventure in Boston will please everyone. And although there are lots of way to “do” the Boston’s Freedom Trail, the most entertaining tour i for all age groups is the 90-minute walking tour offered by the Freedom Trail Foundation.(Boston Common Visitor’s Center)(Map) An 18th century costumed guide will lead you along the heart of the Freedom Trail and regale your family with tales of Boston’s colonial history. It’s a family activity that is fun, educational and a at $12 for adults, $6 for kids, one of Boston’s best entertainment values.
Ice skating is great fun for families to enjoy time together. If the kids (or you!) need help, remember that you can always hang onto the boards for support.Located in the shadow of the Massachusetts State House, the cityscape setting of Boston’s Frog Pond (Boston Common, Boston)(Map) is pure magic. There’s wonderful skating music, skate rentals, a concession stand, and a large warming pavilion . It opens for the season on November 18th.
Laugh out loud with your kids. The Improv Boston family shows (40 Prospect St., Cambridge)(Map) are a perfect Saturday evening activity. These family improvisational and sketch comedy shows are hilarious, feature lots of music and interactive and, run for just about an hour and are appropriate for children ages 10 and under.
