Crush + Cuisine: A Feast of Food and Wine
When Friday night rolls around, it’s time for you to put on your party clothes, as this week is filled with everything delicious at Crush and Cuisine: A Feast of Food and Wine to be held this weekend (September 24-26, 2010) at the Westin Diplomat in Hollywood. Sponsored by NBC and Premier Beverage, Crush and Cuisine goes beyond that grand tasting celebration (that seem to be held just about every other weekend), and it is sure to impress all of you wine connoisseurs with a weekend filled with food and wine.
The festivities begin with a Royal Tasting on Friday night, where 20 local restaurants will compete against each other to arouse your senses with gourmet bites. Some local favorites like 3030 Ocean, Sea Level and The Capital Grille will be participating and offering you a sampling. It wouldn’t be complete without fine wines to pair with your every bite, and Premier beverage has an impressive line-up. After the Royal Tasting, it’s time for something sweet so save room for The Last Syrah with a decadent dessert buffet, dessert wines, cordials and hand-rolled cigars.
Saturday brings even more excitement when a variety of educational food/wine seminars will take place. If you’re looking to spruce up your kitchen skills, you won’t want to miss the hands-on cooking class with Chefs David Hackett, Ron Radabaugh and Henry Martignano. Now it’s time for the wine education to begin — Discover the art of blending in the first session, show off your wine knowledge during the blind tasting event, learn how to buy wine for investment and more. The evening continues with a gala dinner with an elegant menu that includes Apple Eiswein Poached Maine Lobster with saffron infused scallops and dehydrated cranberry chutney paired with Iron Horse Classic Vintage Brut, and Crispy Skinned Spanish Sea Bass with smoked paprika-brown butter and dry chorizo hash served with Silverado Merlot.
If you still haven’t had enough, there’s also a brunch on Sunday morning.
Right now, they are doing a last minute push on tickets so you can pick them up for bargain prices. For more details, visit Crush and Cuisine online.
