Deals and Packages for Getaways in the South

Thinking about planning a quick getaway soon? Don’t do anything until you check out the deals and packages for travel throughout the South.

Arkansas

• Mountain Harbor Resort (map) in Mount Ida is offering a two-night package that includes four passes to dig for diamonds at Crater of Diamonds State Park (map) in Nashville. It also features a stay in a condo with a kitchen, private deck and more.

Texas

• It’s all about adventures at San Antonio Marriott Northwest (map). You can chose from such packages that include two tickets to SeaWorld (map) or Six Flags Fiesta Texas (map). Both packages also feature a deluxe room, and breakfast for two adults and two children.
• Make plans to attend the Texas State Fair (September 24 – October 17) with Palomar Dallas’ (map) Big Tex Bargain package that features 2 DART train passes and hotel valet parking.

Alabama

• Through December 3, you can stay overnight and enjoy breakfast the next morning at Renaissance Montgomery (map). With the Wake Up package, two adults and children can enjoy breakfast.

Georgia

• Make a “splash” or a “big splash” with Omni Hotel at CNN Center’s (map) Georgia Aquarium (map) package. Both the “splash” and “big splash” options feature deluxe room for four, breakfast for four, $25 dining credit, and four unlimited VIP passes for the front of the line at the Aquarium. The “big splash” option also includes a special fun pack. Package is available through January 31, 2011.
• Tour Savannah with one of Savannah Marriott Riverwalk’s (map) packages. Good through August 23, 2011, you can chose from walking tour, ghost tour or Paula Deen tour. All packages include deluxe accommodations and tickets for two to any of the tours, among other goodies.

Florida

• Panama City Beach wants to say “thank you” to those who serve or have serve in our military. Through October 11, Panama City Beach is hosting Military Appreciation Month. The month features numerous discounts throughout the area, including hotels and resorts.
• It’s not too late to take advantage of Tradewinds’ (map) Take Me Out to the Beach package. Good for one night, September 11, this St. Pete Beach-package is filled with all kinds of baseball fun for the entire family.
• Thinking about a quick trip to the Palm Beaches and Boca Raton? Be sure to check out all of the area’s hotel packages before you go. 
• Marco Island Marriott Beach Resort (map) understands that you don’t want summer to end. So, to extend the season further for you, the property has an Endless Summer Recreational package. Good through October 2, it includes breakfast for two, daily golf for two players, non-motorized beach toys and more.

Virginia

• The Sheraton Waterside Hotel (map) in Norfolk is offering 50 percent off their best rate for service members. This includes not only active and retired military, but also those in law enforcement, fire department and rescue squad. Valid department-issued ID is required at check-in. This package is good through January 31, 2011.
