September Outdoor Festivals in Chicago
With summer coming to an end in Chicago that doesn’t mean the end of the city’s street festivals.
September is still prime time for Chicago’s outdoor parties with several outdoor festivals including:
September 3 – 5 is the free Chicago Jazz Festival at Grant Park (500 S. Columbus Drive; map) that is considered to be one of the best jazz fests in the country due to the Jazz Institute of Chicago’s ability to book a talented lineup of artists.
September 10 – 11 is the Windy City Wine Festival at Grant Park ($25 in advance; $35 at the door; $10 for designated drivers) where you can sample more than 200 wines from around the world.
September 17 – 18 is the free Viva! Chicago Latin Music Festival at Millennium Park (201 E. Randolph Street; map) that showcases local, national and international talent including salsa, reggaeton, mariachi, norteña and Spanish pop. Many artists are Grammy award winners and nominees.
September 24 – 26 is the Oktoberfest Chicago in the Lakeview neighborhood (3000 N. Lincoln Avenue; donation at the door) where you can dine on brats and beer and listen to German-style music. Chicken Dance anyone?
