The Magic Behind The World

World of Color is the newest attraction to take Disney’s  California Adventure Park (map) at Disneyland Resort (map) by storm.  Presented on Paradise Bay nightly this lights, water, music, fire and animations extravaganza debuted this summer as part of the latest, multi-year enhancements to the theme park.

The show combines almost 1,200 powerful fountains that shoot between 30 feet to 200 feet in the air, dazzling color and visual effects

including a wall of water that serves as the world’s largest projection screen showing classic and new Disney animation like this scene from the Disney film,  WALL-E.

While we might be awed by the phenomenal show taking place in the forefront, take a look at the magic that happens behind the scenes.

A water stage, longer than a football field, is operated by a technical underground network of fountains and and flotation devices under the lagoon

A 93-piece orchestra was assembled at the legendary Abbey Road Studios in London to record the musical soundtrack for World of Color which also includes synthesizers and over 100 voices.

The nightly show could not take place without the largest control system ever constructed, with more than 18,000 active points of control managing the lights, fountains, music and animation in pure precision making it all seem magical!
