The Ko Olina Taste of Kapolei

The 2010 Ko Olina Taste of Kapolei is scheduled for 6 p.m. on Saturday, September 18 and will feature 24 tasting tents where food lovers will digest the cooking wisdom of Hawaii’s top chefs.

The event, which raises money to fund scholarships for aspiring college students from West Oahu and the Leeward Coast, is held amid palm trees and a sunset over a lagoon at the Ko Olina Resort and Marina.

For the past 10 years, the Ko Olina Tast of Kapolei has brought together top chefs to presents their finest signature dishes.  Now in its 11th year, it is one of the most popular culinary events in West Oahu, drawing a sell-out crowd every year.

Among the restaurants participating in this year’s event are Formaggio Grill, Indigo Restaurant, Auntie Pasto’s, Souvaly Thai Cuisine and Big City Diner.  Among the chefs in attendance at the VIP tent will be Chai Chaowasaree from Chai’s Island Bistro, Ed Kenney from Town, and Dean Okimoto from Nalo Farms.

Sounds like a great lineup!

The fun starts at 6:00 pm through 9:00 pm at the fourth lagoon at Ko Olina Resort. Fabulous food, wine, beer and beverages from over 20 restaurants are included in the ticket price. Bid on silent auction items, browse a “Buying Local” exhibit, enjoy live music, then end the night with a dazzling fireworks display.  Advance tickets cost $75 for adults and $35 for children (ages 7-12).  For ticket information visit www.hawaiisbesttickets.com or call #800-545-2772.
