Learn About Sea Life on BC Ferries
Do you want to know more about our Coastal waters? This summer when you take a ferry trip on the Vancouver-Victoria, Horseshoe Bay-Nanaimo routes, you’ll be pleasantly entertained by a Coastal Naturalist who will introduce to to life below the waves on the BC Coast.
The 2010 Coastal Naturalist program runs until Labour Day, September 6. It’s a great way to entertain the kids while on board and you’ll learn a lot about sea life yourself. The Naturalist will answer your questions, give an interesting talk about undersea life, as well as hands-on demonstrations where children can participate. The program is presented 40 minutes into the journey up on the 6th deck level. Listen for the announcement when you’re on board the ferry. The program is sponsored by BC Ferries and Parks Canada.
In addition to the on-board lectures, there are exhibits at the ferry terminals. Coastal Awareness is a program presented by Chevron and is the latest addition to the BC ferries Coastal Experiences program. You’ll find these popular exhibits at BC Ferries Vancouver, Victoria and Nanaimo terminals.
