Kailash Kher Performs with Slum Children
As far as Indian pop musicians are concerned, Kailash Kher songs ranks way up there. This weekend Kailash Kher is performing in New Delhi. The event is organized by the Crafters Events & Wedding Planners in the aid of Guru Nanak Garib Niwaj Education Society, an NGO which is working for the education of the poor children of slum areas. This charitable event will also feature performances by Slum children and salsa by seasoned professionals.

About Kailash Kher
Born in 1973, Kailash Kher is a Kashmiri. His early years were influenced by his famous father Mehar Singh, who has a name in the folk singing community. Kailash Kher has been recording albums since 2002 and has also had stints as a music director, lyricist, and actor. This is what Grammy winner A.R. Rahman has this to say about Kailash Kher:
“…The moment I heard him, I knew that here was a voice that was so wonderful, and which had its own unique space…”
What’s fascinating is that playback singing as a career happened by chance, he was initially quite an unsuccessful business man.
