Children’s Library At The Charles Hotel…
I’ve yet to visit New England but I really fancy the idea of a visit in Fall – crisp air, beautiful autumn leaves, and a big bowl of clam chowder. Plus, I love the accent. My husband said the harbour tour is well worth the money, if only to hear the guide describe the U.S.S. Constitution as “The proid and joy of Bah-stan ar-bah”.
When traveling with kids, you definitely want to have a few books with you, but books can get heavy. We often stick to bedtime favourites in our carry-on with kids, but there definitely times that a few extra children’s books would come in handy.
Enter the Charles Hotel in Cambridge, Massachusetts. They offer complimentary cribs for tiny travelers (outfitted with proper bedding), each child is presented with a “Kid’s Kit” upon check in, and now their extensive lending library includes children’s books. Mom or dad can borrow an autographed volume by Hillary Clinton, David Mamet, or Caroline Kennedy, and the kids can choose classics like Curious George, Make Way for Ducklings, and works by Dr. Seuss.
Located minutes from downtown Boston (map), and offering a seasonal skating rink, The Charles Hotel (map) is promoting itself as family-friendly luxury boutique hotel – usually a contradiction in terms.
