Taking Advantage of Last Minute Promotions

I can´t seam to understand if Tourism in Lisbon (or in Portugal, for that matter) is down or up. Some people say it’s definitely low… The fact is that it’s almost impossible to get a rented car for the next day, in August. I’ve tried a couple of times for jobs I had in the north and in the south of Portugal. I ended up taking my own car.

This said, I took some time to go through the Internet and it’s obvious that the tourist business is more aggressive that ever. Take for example the Campo Grande NH Hotel, placed right in the middle of the city (map). They are selling Singel and Double bedrooms with breakfast included and welcome cookies with tea for as little as 80€ a night. The NS Hotels are also selling an unbeatable Sleep and Go promotion – between 18 and 30 years old, you pay as little as 53,50€ for two persons, without breakfast.

The list of Hotels showing this kind of deals is almost endless. But it goes further into car rentals, restaurants, extended happy hours at bars, and so on.

You just need to keep your eyes opened and you may have a slight cheaper vacations than you expected.
