Tea At The Four Seasons
After a strenuous day of sightseeing and/or shopping, the Bristol Lounge at the Four Seasons Hotel is a pleasant place to take afternoon tea. Overlooking the Public Garden watching the beautiful people stroll by on their way over to Newbury Street, the soothing setting of the Bristol Lounge is the scene for tea for two- or three-or four or more every afternoon.
Afternoon tea ($28) at the Four Seasons is appropriately swank and includes a pot of tea, warm scones, and a selection of tea sandwiches and pastries. You can select among an extensive array of teas- the fragrantly subtle Darjeeling is always an excellent choice or go for the Earl Grey blend with its hint of citrus.
This is a three-course experience. On the top tier of the tri-level cake stand, the light scones are served warm. All the scone accouterments- the lemon curd, the thick Devonshire cream and strawberry jam- are house made. This day’s scone was cranberry- and it is one of the best scones you will ever eat. The other tea bread was a moist date nut bread. Working your way down the tiers, you will find the savories- a salmon roll-up, an herbed cream cheese cucumber on brioche and a splendid curry and apricot chicken sandwich. The third tier features the dainties and it is the prettiest course- there is a pecan tart, a frosted cream puff filled with lemon curd and a single raspberry, and an orange citrus tart with white chocolate.
The room is sophisticated and elegantly appointed with dark wood furniture and a mix of arm chairs and banquettes with pillows that you can just sink into. The Four Seasons’ famously attentive service completes the afternoon tea experience. After this tea, you will want to linger.
Note: Afternoon tea is served everyday in the Bristol Lounge from 3:00 PM-4:15 PM, reservations are not required, but are suggested.

Great piece! I love afternoon tea and it seems like the Four Seasons hotel in Boston gets it right. A good price too. I will keep it in mind if I’m in Boston any time soon! Thanks for sharing.
