Back with Sizzle, Sedona Jazz Festival
After a brief hiatus in 2009, the 28-year festival, Sedona Jazz on the Rocks is back and better than before.
With an all-star lineup of exceptional musicians from Jazz, R&B, and Blues, the festival will be held again on the beautiful grounds of the () on Saturday, October 2.
In an effort to attract more fans, the festival has added R&B, blues, pop and a hint of classical music, including Cuban-born pianist Alfredo Rodriguez, contemporary jazz guitarist Craig Chaquico and Phoenix-based singer Dennis Rowland. Also on the bill is the Homemade Jamz Blues Band from Mississippi and blues-R&B vocalist Maysa.
Alfredo Rodriguez is an emerging, rising star that met Quincy Jones at the prestigious Montreux Jazz Festival. Jones later became his mentor and his debut CD will be released soon.
Maysa was a member of Stevie Wonder’s Wonderlove who was recently nabbed a Soul Train Award for “Soul Approved Underground Singer.” Listen to Maysa’s current work here on .
Established in 1981, Sedona Jazz on the Rocks is one of the oldest and most respected jazz festivals in the Southwest. Festival tickets will go on sale on August 8th. At that time, tickets can be purchased from or by telephone at (928) 282-1985.
