Lollapalooza Kicks Off in Chicago This Weekend
Chicago’s music scene gets a major boost this weekend when big-time acts like Lady Gaga make their way to the Windy City to perform during Lollapalooza August 6 – 8. 
The 2010 Lollapalooza will take place in Grant Park (500 S. Columbus Drive; map) with 130 bands performing on eight stages. The festival’s dates and times include:
Friday, August 6 : 11 a.m. – 10 p.m.
Saturday, August 7 : 11 a.m. – 10 p.m.
Sunday, August 8 : 11 a.m. – 10 p.m
On Friday, Lady Gaga takes center stage and then Green Day on Saturday. Sunday’s headliner is Soundgarden.
Other bands to keep on your radar include Cypress Hill, MGMT, and Arcade Fire. Here is a complete lineup.
Several after-parties will take place throughout Chicago, including:
- Perez Hilton debuting his “One Night In …” series Thursday at the Hard Rock Hotel.
- On Friday night at Soundbar, Perry Farrell will debut his new dance project, PGM (Precision Guided Musicians).
Tip: Be sure to eat at Lollapalooza. Chef Graham Elliot Bowles is the festival’s culinary director. There will be two food courts on the north and south side of Grant park.
