FREE August Entertainment at Seattle Center

August weekends are budget friendly with FREE entertainment at the Seattle Center.

Every Friday night KEXP presents Concerts at the Mural.  The concerts start at 6 pm and feature the best of the area’s independent music scene.  They are suitable for all ages.  As an added event, KEXP will feature music and a barbecue on Saturday, August 14th, from 2-9 pm.

Here’s the FREE music line up.

  • Friday, August 6th:  Elliott Brood, Grand Hallway, Gabriel Mintz
  • Friday, August 13th:  Brite Futures, Noddy, State of the Artist
  • Saturday, August 14th:  Quasi, Suckers, The Lonely Forest, The Joy Formidable, Dinosaur Feathers, Victor Shade (2-9 pm)
  • Friday, August 20th:  Say Hi, Head Like a Kite
  • Friday, August 27th:  Mt. St. Helen’s Vietnam Band, The Head and the Heart, Yuni in Taxco

Complete a Seattle Center weekend of FREE entertainment with Movies at the Mural, offered all but one Saturday in August.  Movies at the Mural features a 45-foot screen and plenty of lawn for stretching out and relaxing.  Movie start at dusk, estimated to be approximately 9 pm.  (NOTE:  The Saturday that is skipped is for the KEXP barbecue and music event, and a Sunday movie has been substituted.)

  • Saturday, August 21st:  Twilight (rated PG-13)
  • Sunday, August 22:  The Twilight Saga:  New Moon (rated PG-13)
  • Saturday, August 28th:  Star Trek (rated PG-13)
