Singapore’s First All-Inclusive Boutique Hotel

There are two types of accommodations that I adore if done properly – all-inclusives and boutique hotels.  I was excited, therefore, to learn that Singapore has opened its first all-inclusive boutique hotel.  Of course, not everyone has the same idea about what “all-inclusive” means but The Quincy includes the following in the room rate:

  • Limousine transfer service from the airport (with free Wi-Fi access during the ride!)
  • Three daily meals at the hotel
  • All mini-bar amenities
  • Cocktails and drinks every night

Located within walking distance of Orchard Road, guests of The Quincy will have access to one of the world’s foremost retail and entertainment hubs. Want to avoid renting a car?  No problem!  The hotel is also close to the public transport network on the island while remaining tucked away from the main road, allowing guests to retreat from the hustle and bustle.

With just 108 rooms, guests will enjoy a quieter, more personalized experience.  From the outside, the hotel’s design is strikingly modern and this them continues in the interior but with just enough quirky accents (peanut-shaped benches, illuminated torsos, surprising messages in the elevators on a daily basis, colour-changing LED lights dotting the pool deck, etc…) to give it real personality.

Some people hear the words “boutique hotel” and assume the rooms are not only going to be tiny but will also have limited features.  At The Quincy, all of the rooms include premium king-sized mattresses, feather beddings, free Internet access throughout the hotel, a 42″ LCD TV and a separate bathtub and rain-shower.  Other room features include:

  • Direct USB/HDMI interface to TV
  • Cable TV & movie channels
  • Laptop safe
  • Executive writing desk
  • International direct dial telephone and voice mail
  • Motorised black-out curtain
  • Minibar & coffee/tea facility
  • Iron & ironing board
  • Hair dryer and sensory bath toiletries from Molton Brown
  • Wardrobe well-stocked with amenities: bathrobes and slippers, shoe horn/brush/shine and umbrella
  • Security key card system with RFID technology

They really have thought of everything and the all-inclusiveness makes The Quincy a very appealing place to stay.  One of my fears associated with travel to Asia is that I’m going to be very far away from home and it can get expensive.  Knowing that my hotel, food and many of my incidentals (internet, airport transfer, etc…) are already covered would give me great peace of mind.
