Punk Not Dead

As I mentioned before, Buenos Aires is a cosmopolitan metropolis, and as such it is full of contrasts and diversity.

If you like punk music, tattoos, piercings, skates or dark clothes there is a place you may like to visit. At Avenida Santa Fé 1670, you will find la Galería Bond Street, a punk-influenced shopping area for the younger generation.

The three-level labyrinth of stores includes dozens of piercing and tattoo shops straight out of Venice Beach. La Bond Street, as teenagers like to call this gallery, became the meeting point for a number of cultures. Here you will find skaters, gothics, punks, bikers, hardcores, rockers as well as curious shoppers, in the most absolute state of harmony and respect. It is the style of La Bond Street.

It became popular some years ago when several tattoo and piercing stores established there. If you want to have a tattoo or a piercing done in Buenos Aires, this is the place where you should go. A piercing ranges from $30 pesos to about $60 pesos, and a tattoo around $50 pesos. Many famous personalities have had tattoos done at La Bond,  like the very best fútbol player of the world Diego Armando Maradona (his famous Che Guevara tattoo).

You will also find really cool clothes, shoes, music, books and more… It is one of those places where your eyes can not take everything at the same time.
