2nd Annual Chicago Luxury Ice Cream Festival

Who doesn’t love ice cream on a hot summer day, and given how hot and humid it has been in Chicago lately, a cool trick sounds just about right, doesn’t it?

On Friday July 30 and Saturday July 31 (7 p.m. to 10 p.m.), the 2nd Annual Chicago Luxury Ice Cream Festival will take place at the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum (2430 N. Cannon Drive; map).

About the Chicago Luxury Ice Cream Festival
According to the festival’s Web site: “The Chicago Luxury Ice Cream Festival pays homage to the micro-creamery, pastry chefs, chocolatiers and artisan suppliers. No bowl is left unturned, as the Festival offers something for every palate, whether you’re an ice cream purist, the head chef of your household, or just a lover of good food.”

Tickets to the festival are $25 and include sampling “never-before-tasted” and “rare”  ice cream creations, as well as:

  • Live demonstrations & workshops
  • The Great Chicago Brain Freeze – a chef competition where you get the chance to vote for the winners and taste the results.

Craig Nielsen, CEO of Nielsen-Massey Vanillas, will be judging “The Great Chicago Brain Freeze.” Other participating chefs and restaurants include:
