Hot Happenings — Week of July 20

Tuesday, July 20 — RA Sushi in Palm Beach Gardens is hosting a “Roll’N with RA” charity sushi rolling contest. Four charities will compete against each other to create a signature roll. The winning roll will be featured on a special menu for August. While there is a panel of media judges to do the official judging, an extra point will be awarded for the crowd favorite. This event is free to attend and will take place from 5-7 pm. Complimentary appetizers will be served and drink specials will be offered. Wednesday, July 21 — Ortanique on the Mile will host a Wednesday Wine Tasting Extravaganza. For $20, guests will get to sample over 21 wines from their award winning list and enjoy hors d’oeuvres. Featured wines include Veuve Cliquot Ponsardin, Kuleto Winery, Cain Winery and more. The event takes place from 6-7:30 and anyone who stays for dinner after the dinner will receive 10% off. Thursday, July 22 Shop.Dine.Win at The Village of Gulfstream Park. The Hallandale Beach Chamber of Commerce will host a night of food, fun, shopping and prizes from 5:30-10:00 pm. Cost is $30 in advance, $35 at the event and includes restaurant samplings, cocktails, shopping promotions and a chance to win prizes — including a 10-day cruise for 2. Friday, July 23 It’s a Spanish Fiesta at Pistache on Friday night. From 6:30 pm on, the restaurant will be dedicated to celebrating Spanish culture. Guests will enjoy Spanish tapas, paella, sangria, flamenco dancers and more. A special $39 3-course prix-fixe will be offered with Spanish wine selections. Saturday, July 24 The South Florida Science Museum will host the 2nd Annual Green, Health and Wellness Expo on Saturday. This all day event will feature fun and educational activities for the entire family focusing on promoting a healthy lifestyle. There will also be healthy cooking demonstrations, entertainment, food, games and more. Entry to the expo is included as part of regular admission to the museum.
