“Free For All” Movie Mondays in Orange County
The Orange County Performing Arts Center is hosting “Free For All Movie Mondays” throughout the summer in Costa Mesa. The free movies will be shown outdoors on the Community Plaza at the Orange County Performing Arts Center. Movies will begin at dusk, around 8 p.m.
July 19 – Some Like it Hot
This comedic movie is about two male waiters (Tony Curtis and Jack Lemmon) who flee their state and disguise themselves by joining a girl band with Marilyn Monroe after witnessing a mob hit. Rated PG-13, 2 hours long.
July 26 – Oliver!
One of the most popular and critically acclaimed stage-to-screen adaptations, originally written by Charles Dickens, Oliver follows the adventures of a young orphan in the streets of 19th century London. Rated G, 2 hours and 33 minutes long.
August 2 – Dirty Dancing
Jennifer Grey and Patrick Swayze star in this movie that arguably defined their careers. Dirty Dancing is the love story of a 17-year old and her dance instructor at a summer resort, featuring music that became unforgettable hits. Rated PG-13, 1 hour and 40 minutes.
August 9 – Mad Hot Ballroom
This documentary is told from the perspective of a group of New York City fifth graders while they participate in a required 10-week ballroom dancing class. This one won last years’ Audience Favorite poll! Rated PG, 1 hour and 45 minutes.
Guests are encouraged to bring chairs or blankets, and may brings snacks or a picnic style dinner, but barbecues and other preparation is not allowed. Patina Catering will have assorted snacks and beverages available for purchase.
