Venice With Kids

A highlight for me from my European travels as a single gal, was definitely Venice. It’s also where I have one of my big travel regrets – I didn’t go on a gondola ride. As a backpacker on a budget, $100 (at the time) was a little steep for me. To this day I regret not splurging on it.
But because I have that urge, I know I’ll be back! The BAUERs Venezia group of hotels has introduced a new children’s program. The 5 BAUER s are lavish 5-star properties located throughout Venice. The first one opened in 1880, and each hotel offers their own unique amenities.
New for Summer 2010, The BAUERs Venezia Children’s Program includes:
-A Perfect Venetian Crime – a special crime mystery tour of the Doge’s Palace
-Workshops at the Palazzo Grassi (map) and Punta della Dogana (map)
-Tour of the Venice Natural History Museum (map), visiting the Aquarium, the Specialized Library, Searching for Dinosaurs, Stone Creatures, and The Path of Life, accompanied by an English-speaking guide
-Discover the City of Venice Through Children’s Eyes – a guided tour of the city created specifically for children, accompanied by an English-speaking guide.
-Bicycle tour of the Lido
-Crafts for youngsters, ages 2 and up, under the supervision of a personal babysitter
All activities are available upon request and vary in pricing.
I’m fairly certain the BAUERs properties are out of my price range, but once I finally do Italy with kids, I’m convinced that a stay there will be a part of my NEXT trip to Venice.
