1000 Places in Massachusetts That Rate “Great”
The Massachusetts Office of Travel and Tourism has just released its list of 1000 Great Places in Massachusetts to promote interest in destinations across the state. From historic Boston to the Berkshire Hills in the west, to the beaches of Cape Cod- it is official, you really could spend an entire lifetime discovering the wonders of Massachusetts.
Many of the spots on the list are obvious choices, and not to be missed by any visitor to the state- the Boston Freedom Trail , Plimoth Plantation in Plymouth, and the Cape Cod National Seashore come immediately to mind. Some of the places are known only to locals, the Higgins Armory Museum in Worcester is a gem of a museum and houses a world-class collection of arms and armor. And the DeCordova Sculpture Park and Museum in Lincoln which specializes in contemporary art is one of the Commonwealth’s most intriguing museums.
As to picking which Massachusetts attractions are “the best”- that’s next to impossible. The best advice of all? Take a trip to Massachusetts and see for yourself.
