Shimabukuro kicks off the Japanese Friendship Garden’s annual Aki no Matsuri Festival on Sunday, October 17th. Aki no Matsuri Festival is a traditional Fall Festival celebrated in Japan. The Japanese Friendship Garden is located in Balboa Park. The Garden is a place where East Meets west with culture and art. The beautiful gardens are spectacular as well as the Koi Ponds. The proceeds from this event go towards the Friendship Garden’s planned expansion. Tickets to enter the garden are $4/adult and free for children 6 and under.
The concert will take place at the beautiful restored historic, Balboa Theatre located at Horton Plaza in downtown San Diego. Tickets go on sale July 15. Price range from, $22, $37, and *$50. *(Includes entry to a private reception at the Garden). The concert begins at 4:00p.m. Purchase your tickets through the San Diego Civic Center.
