Dinosaurs: Ancient Fossils, New Discoveries

The San Diego Natural History Museum has brought back the Dinosaurs! A traveling exhibition is here until September 6.  This popular exhibit breaks through the public’s preconceived notions to introduce a dynamic new vision of dinosaurs and the scientists who study them.   The exhibit uses a combination of recent major fossil finds, computer simulations, and provocative life-size models.  Examining in greater detail than ever before the scientific sleuthing and the array of investigative tools Dinosaurs has the most up-to-date look at how scientists are reinterpreting many of the mysteries of dinosaurs: what they looked like, how they behaved, and how they moved, as well as the hotly debated theories of why – or even whether – they became extinct.

Along with the exhibit, a 3D film experience - Dinosaurs Alive! narrated by Michael Douglas  offers an eye-popping journey with the world’s preeminent dinosaur hunters as they uncover evidence that the descendents of dinosaurs still walk (or fly) among us.  This global adventures of science and discover features the entire age of dinosaurs – from the earliest creatures of the Triassic period to the monsters of the Jurassic and Cretaceous periods.  Through the magic of scientifically accurate computer generated animation, these newly uncovered creatures, and some familiar favorites, come alive…in a big way!

Tickets:  $16 for adults; $14 for seniors, $11 for military, youth 13-17, students; $10 for children 3-12.  Free for members.
