Celebrate the Storming of the Bastille for Bastille Day
Bastille Day or La Fête Nationale (National Celebration) is one of France’s most important national holidays. And 8 Washington DC restaurants are celebrating the 221st storming of the Bastille’s prison in Paris with French Restaurant Week, which is the traditional symbol the start of the French Revolution on July 14, 1789.
Within 4 years of the storming of the Bastille, France’s people declared the country a republic and King Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette had been. The Reign of Terror followed and upwards of 40,000 enemies of the revolution were executed, many by France’s newest form of capitol punishment, the guillotine.

French Restaurant Week is a week long celebration offering discounted gourmet menus, special entrees and other discounts at the following restaurants:
