4th of July for the Kids
Break out the Red, White and Blue as it is once again time to celebrate every one’s favorite all-American holiday, the Fourth of July. One of my favorite places to celebrate is Conner Prairie an interactive History Center, affiliated with the Smithsonian Institute and located in Fishers, Indiana (map).
For fun and games, the 1800′s way, may I suggest you attend the Glorious Fourth
On your mark! Get Set! Hop to it!
Decorating everything with Red, White and Blue, the colors of the day
Watermelon seed spitting contests rule the day – how are you for distance and accuracy?
Learning the fine art of Muster Drills
Ready to lead the parade of newly enlisted troops
My favorite part of the Glorious Fourth celebration comes after the park closes when picnic baskets, blankets and families spread out over the prairie grounds and music from the Indianapolis Symphony fills the night air for Symphony on the Prairie.
